6 Days Mikumi & Serengeti Safari

Day 1: Drive from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi – Afternoon Game Drive

Upon your arrival in Tanzania, we  shall wake up early and after being picked by your safri guide from Dar es Salam, you depart immediately driving as the city still cloaks in the soft light of dawn heading to Mikumi in a journey through contrasting landscapes — from the bustling streets of Dar to the endless stretch of savanna.

On your way to Mikumi, you shall shall have lunch at a great Tanzanian restaurant roadside restaurant, a simple but hearty meal of grilled chicken and rice, washed down with a cold soda.

Upon arrival at Mikumi, you shall venture into the park for great sightings where elephants splash in muddy pools, giraffes nibble at treetops, and a pride of lions lazes in the shade.

After the encounter, in the evening, proceed to your lodge as the sky turns orange. Accommodation options:

If you prefer, you may have dinner under the stars, the night air filled with the distant calls of the wild.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Mikumi

Today, you have the exciting opportunity to explore Mikumi full day. Wake up shall with the heavy breakfast when the air still cool and the sky brushed in pastel hues and immediately depart for a morning game viewing in Mikumi. Watch as herds of buffalo move like dark waves across the grasslands. A troop of baboons swings through the trees, their cries echoing through the bush, you may as well have predator sighting, elephants, antelopes, zebras and giraffes among others.

Proceed and have a packed lunch in the bush, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the wild before proceeding with your exciting afternoon game drive as the sun dips low, lions stretch and yawn, wildebeests graze, and elephants wander through the golden lightt before you return to the lodge for a hearty dinner.

Day 3: Fly to Serengeti – Evening Game Drive

Today, early morning you shall embark on a morning drive to the Mkikumi airstrip to catch a scenic flight to the famed Serengeti. You arrive just in time for relaxation as you check in your lodge and await afternoon exciting Game Drive in the golden plains stretch endlessly, dotted with acacia trees and the occasional silhouette of a lone giraffe.

Return to your camp, where the night is filled with the sounds of the bush. Options include:

Day 4: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti

You shall wake up to the scent of the wild, the sky still dark but the savanna alive with whispers of the day ahead of you.

Immediately embark on a rewarding morning game drive in the endless golden plains of Serengeti, track the great predators — lions stalking through the grass, cheetahs slinking low, and leopards draped across the branches of trees.

Today, your lunch shall be in the bush, eyes scanning the horizon for the next sighting.

Continue the search for the Big Five as the afternoon heat settles. Watch as hippos wallow in muddy pools and elephants march through the plainsand return to the camp for dinner under a sky blanketed in stars.

Day 5: Half Day Game Drive in Serengeti and transfer to Ngorongoro.

Today, you shall rise early, the air crisp and cool as you set off for another day of exploration in a different and unique part of Serengeti.

You may visit the Seronera River, where predators lurk, waiting for thirsty prey. A pride of lions basks in the sun, cubs playing under the watchful eyes of the adults or if you prefer, go for an enticing hot air balloon safri experience to encounter the massive plains of Serengeti wildlife over the air.

Have lunch and transfer to Ngorongoro with other amazing wildlife encounters enroute.  You also have an option of encountering the local maasai in a Maasai boma on your transfer to Ngorongoro.

Day 6: Ngorongoro crater Game Drive – Return to Arusha

You shall rise before dawn and go for a descend into the famous Ngorongoro crater. This last crater game drive through the volcanic crater of Ngorongoro is breath-taking as it introduces you to the highest concentration of wildlife on earth. Here, you shall witness wildebeest, leopards, rhino, buffaloes, antelopes and more. Have lunch and descend as you find your way to Arusha, each passing mile a reminder of the wild encounters you’ve just lived.

Afternoon: Arrive in Arusha, the city bustling with life as the memories of the wild echo in your mind.
